Proverbs 3:5-8 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.[a]
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. 8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
This is my friend's favorite scripture. It really gets at the sovereignty of God and that He can influence how things are to go. This also hits at why it is foolish to be "wise in your own eyes." When the Lord so obviously takes care of situations it's hard to be proud of yourself and your own strength.

2 Fools find no pleasure in understanding

This is so true! I hope it's not true of me!
