Isn't it great to be reading the Bible every day?

  1. What really struck me in this story was that Uriah the Hittite was a foreigner who worshipped God to the point that he would not go to see his wife, because the Ark of Israel was in a tent and he wasn't going to enjoy the pleasure of going home. What honor! And yet, David acted dishonorably and killed him.
Furthermore, David didn't listen to his conscience and he acted as no sin had been committed and brought Bathsheeba into his house. When confronted with this sin, he repented and God said that he would be humiliated in front of all of Israel by his son sleeping with his wives in broad daylight. God tailors the punishment as it is needed for each of us.
