I was not impressed with Saul trying to use his daughter as a weapon against David. What an immoral act! Later in this passage Michal used an idol to deceive Saul's men. Why on earth did she have an idol? I wonder if David completely forbid them during his reign?
Jonathan again shows his worth as a friend and his strength of character as he stands up to his angry father, Saul, in David's defense. We should all strive to be friends like Jonathan.
I am enjoying how the Psalms are laced in the reading at the appropriate times. It makes them so much more meaningful.
