Am I right in understanding that the Tabernacle stayed, but the Ark came to Jerusalem? If God allowed worship in two places that says a lot to me about how much he loved David.
I like how David showed kindness to Jonathan's son Mephibosheth. David was such a good man. He was true to his word.
I like how David sought to honor God by making a Temple for Him. God basically said that He didn't need a Temple and hadn't asked for one, but He greatly honored David, because he wanted to honor God. David's beautiful humility shines forth here. He had in mind that things of God instead of the things of men.
