  1. This is the institution of the Passover and it's interesting to me that it involves the people's actions for the first time in whether or not they would be saved. In all of the other plagues the people didn't have to do anything, but here they have to participate in the Passover and put blood on the door posts. God knows us so well. He was building faith in his new people and He knew they would need reminding of what had taken place. Even here God was thinking forward to Christ, the Lamb who was to be slain for my "passover". God is amazing!

  2. I had never seen how important the date of the decree to annihilate the Jews in the book of Esther is. The decree goes out at the same time the Jews are preparing for the Passover. God's reminder to His people (and to me) that as He was capable of bringing His people out of Egypt, He is capable of bringing them (and me) out of any seemingly impossible situation. I love how God works.
