I was struck that God said several times that the Israelites were not to force their way through to see Him on the mountain when He must have known that they would be so terrified that they would not do that. Why is this recorded then? I think that God wants to show the very intimate relationship that He desires between Him and His people. I also think that He wants to impress upon us that He is holy by nature and that has to be honored. Also, I was impressed again with how God would take away their illnesses and bless them if they only obeyed. How do you think that applies today?
